Barbells for Boobs is a non-profit organization who provides funding to breast centers globally through our Mammograms in Action ® Grant Program as a “last resort” resource for thousands of people who do not qualify for government funding or other charitable resources in the detection of breast cancer. Funding for screenings and diagnostic procedures is not only a necessity, but really does save lives.
Why the barbell?
-The Barbell represents a commitment to health and wellness. It’s a lifestyle. It’s loud. It’s disruptive. It’s a movement.
-The crossed Barbells represent health and wellness, which go hand-in-hand. Health encompasses nutrition and exercise, the only proven way to reduce the risk of cancer. Wellness means advocating for yourself by taking action because no one is immune to chronic disease.
-The Barbell also represents a weight being lifted. It represents peace-of-mind.
Through the support of our Programs we’ve provided solutions to over 20,000 individuals and counting, in the form of access to procedures, navigation, connections, and support.
-We think of ourselves as more than a non-profit, we’re affecting long-term social change. We’re unorthodox (the word Boobs is in our name) and challenging the status quo. We’re about action, we’re about being proactive, and we’re about raising the bar.
-Together with one unified voice, we can make a difference.
