9.2.17 Workout of the Day

Box Brief: We will be closed today, as we take our fitness to Conviction Training Facility, on Hilton Head. All members are encouraged to participate in this event that we have been attending for the last 5 years. Let's support our neighboring CrossFit gym and spread fitness for a most honorable cause. Specifics are below. Event starts at 9 AM sharp. Hope to see you all there.

8th Annual WOD for RET: Please join us, Saturday September 2nd, 9 AM at CTF as we honor the memory of an incredibly strong, courageous and charismatic young man - Richard E. Thomas III, "Ret".

In 1999, shortly before his 14th birthday, Ret Thomas, a student and athlete at Hilton Head Prep was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma. Ret lost his year-long battle in April 2000, just after his 15th birthday. Ret’s final wish to his family was, “Give Back.”

Events like this one help the Thomas family continue to make Ret’s final wish possible and his spirit lives on with your participation. CTF: Home of CrossFit Hilton Head is honored to be a part of it.

2017’s RET event will take place at CTF Saturday Sept. 2nd at 9 AM. Friends and family of CTF, the Thomas family and our Island community are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Optional donations will be accepted at the front desk and will benefit St. Jude.

Please stick around after the WOD for a beer and some camaraderie in RET's honor.

WOD for RET is: For time: 15 Deadlifts 185/105 800m run 15 pushups 800m run 15 burpees 800m run 15 pushups 800m run 15 burpees 800m run 15 pushups 800m run 15 burpees Finish remainder of 5k 15 deadlifts 185/105 Cross Finish Line

The WOD for RET also offers competitors “Scaled” and “Beginner” WOD options:
